FTTx: Where we are today
With the current strong focus in telecoms on high capacity broadband
applications and the subsequent drive to bring Fiber to the Home (FTTH), the adoption of dedicated
fiber systems in the "last mile" networks is rising dramatically.
With a history going back more than 130 years, Prysmian has a wealth of knowledge and
experience in the cable business. The technical focus is now on this "last mile" sector, and the
Company is actively developing a range of products to suit a variety of FTTx applications.
Such products are often the result of cooperation between Prysmian and our customers and
partners worldwide. They are engineered with real applications in mind, with an emphasis on easy
and cost-effective installation.
Prysmian is closely involved in the promotion and the development of FTTx
worldwide; that's why we're active members of the FTTH COUNCIL.
